
Thanks everyone for making this years Amstel Standing awesome. Lets hear it for all The clubs that were represented, Retford and district Wheelers, Worksop Wheelers Cycling Club, The Broomwagon Racing team, Tickhill Velo, Tuxford Clarion Cycling Club, Leicester Forest Cycling Club, The Pickwick Bicycle Club, Harworth and district Cycling Club, Spalding Cycling Club, The Royal Navy & Marines CA, Pewsey Velo, Bolsover & district Cycling Club, Sheff tri, Out of the Saddle, Sheffrec Cycling Club, Rossington Wheelers, Viking Velo Cycling Club, Welland Valley cycling club, DAPS Cycling Club, Rapha Cycling Club, Sherwood pines Cycles, Mansfield Racing Club, and not forgetting the Bridgegate Cycles Collective. Chapeau to the Retford Lions for making this years event run so smoothly with rider registration and feed station marshalling not to forget the energy fueling Bananas.
A big thank you to Will from Retford framing Studio for making our route cards. Nuff Respect to all the solo riders out there. Big it up for Beryl and the Broomwagon “Massive” for breakfast time catering and for staying open till the last rider. Nice work Russell Cairns for tending the riders with Ice Cream. Respect due to the Lord Nelson inn, sutton on trent, for putting on a fine smorgasbord.A Special shout out to Nick Gordon and James from Pewsey Velo who stayed up with me till 3am putting the signs out! Put your hands together for MyGym who made there facilities available to all riders. Many thanks to the Jelly Bean Camper company, for topping riders up with a sugar boost near the end. Give it up for Ruth Battersby and the Banana Boys at the Headon checkpoint. Many thanks to Borre Wickstrome, Vince Kay and the many photographers for some excellent images of this years event. Three cheers for Nigel Cowell-Clark who followed us all round and helped out any weary riders.
