Hi Guys, Jimmy here. This week I was lucky enough to be invited on a trip to Italy (at an ungodly hour), to visit the Campagnolo Factory. The day consisted of a presentation by the Head of Marketing, lunch in the fantastic staff canteen, along side those whom make our mechanically marvellous groupsets and wheels; then a factory tour and finally a meet and greet with Mr Campagnolo himself.
The Factory was a feat of engineering. The vast floor space was a clear indication of the attention to detail Campagnolo pay to every aspect of the design to manufacture process. It was also made clear that the majority of manufacture, all of the design and development is still being done in Italy and the main factory itself. The most astonishing aspect of the factory was the rigorous quality control, ensuring that the Campagnolo product reaches the end user as near to perfect as possible for the hard wear and tear of racing, sportive or club riding.
Finally, the meet and greet Mr Campagnolo was a fitting end to the day, and somewhat of a surprise. He thanked us for our continued support to the brand and the product that has supported road cycling for so long. He also stated that he was amazed at how the recent cycling boom in England had effected the international industry so positively.
Italy was fantastic and still is. Keep the winter miles going and the rubber side down.
Cheers Jimmy
